More information will be sent to presenters regarding the set up of your poster onsite.
Here are a few hints for good poster presentations:
- Make your poster simple and eye-catching with clean and attractive layouts
- Use simple drawings, diagrams, graphs, and/or photographs
- Graphics should be explicit and brief
- Use few panels, including an introduction/summary
- Simple use of color can add emphasis effectively. The best color combinations are:
Black on white; Red on white; Green on white; Blue on white; White on blue; White on black - Use large print and a minimum of text
- Your poster should contain headings that organize and logically display the information
- If you have additional, online information to share, you may wish to include a QR code on your poster. This will enable attendees to use their mobile devices to scan the QR code to direct them to a webpage with more information about your poster.
COVID-19 Statement and Protocols for the APPD 2022 Spring Annual Meeting in San Diego
April 23, 2022
The Association of Pediatric Program Directors (APPD) is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all participants at the 2022 Annual Spring Meeting in San Diego. The health and wellbeing of participants, volunteers, and staff is top priority for APPD.
We will adhere to the recommendations and requirements of CDC, the State of California, the San Diego County and the Meeting Hotel (Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina). As of April 20, 2022, the California Department of Health strongly recommends the wearing of masks for all persons, regardless of vaccine status, in indoor public settings and businesses (examples: retail, restaurants, theaters, family entertainment centers, meetings, state and local government offices serving the public); on public transit (examples: airplanes, ships, ferries, trains, subways, buses, taxis, and ride-shares); and in transportation hubs (examples: airport, bus terminal, marina, train station, seaport or other port, subway station, or any other area that provides transportation). Surgical masks or higher-level respirators (e.g., N95s, KN95s, KF94s) with good fit are highly recommended.
As these recommendations change, the APPD will update attendees as soon as possible, and those recommendations will supersede the information provided herein.
Protocols for Attending the Meeting
As this meeting is considered a “Mega Event”1, the APPD asks that all meeting attendees, speakers, volunteers, and support staff > age 2 years of age:
- Be fully vaccinated2 against COVID-19 OR obtain a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within two (2) days (48 hours) prior to May 15, 2022. The APPD will not require verification from meeting participants.
- Wear a face mask indoors in the presence of other persons during the full duration of the meeting, with the exception of removing face masks while actively eating or drinking.
- Evaluate your health each day before attending meeting related activities and sessions.
- Self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 following the event and agree to contact APPD at info@appd.org if testing positive for COVID-19 within 10 days after the meeting concludes.
As a registrant, you acknowledge, understand and knowingly and freely assume all risks related to illness and infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, by attending the APPD 2022 Spring Annual Meeting in San Diego.
