The Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellowship program at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University has a first-year fellowship position available to start July 1, 2026.

About our Program:

Our program provides a broad, multidisciplinary educational program developed to train pediatricians to become successful and competent critical care clinicians, educators, and researchers.

All of the program’s clinical activities are housed in the Wellstar Children’s Hospital of Georgia which is a 149-bed, 220,000-square-foot facility that has a dedicated 14 bed combined medical-surgical PICU and cardiovascular ICU, along with an additional 6 bed pediatric intermediate care unit. We are actively expanding to be an all-inclusive 22 bed unit in the near future.

Our clinical exposure is broad and comprehensive, both in terms of patient physiology and the populations we serve. We have approximately 1000 admissions annually and are an ELSO center of ECMO excellence.  We offer extensive options for basic science, translational, or clinical research experience available through collaboration with the broad spectrum of lab-based and clinical scientists at Augusta University. Our fellows have approximately 12 months of research time, all of which is free of clinical duty and call. Our educational curriculum is robust, including dedicated POCUS and research curriculum; didactic time is fully protected every Wednesday for 2 to 3 hours.
