Opening for PGY-2 Pediatric Resident

The Cook County Health Pediatric Program in Chicago, Illinois, seeks a PGY-2 resident to join our unique program, commencing July 1, 2024. As a fully accredited categorical pediatric residency, we stand out for our commitment to training leaders and provide a robust clinical foundation, with special focus on ambulatory pediatrics.

Cook County Hospital has a rich tradition of providing health care to the underserved for 180 years. It has also earned a worldwide reputation for training thousands of residents. Our Pediatric Residency Program was one of the first accredited training programs in the country by the ACGME in 1927. We are a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, with ABA Burn Designation for Pediatrics and the Toxikon Consortium, which has been a proud partner of the Department of Pediatrics for over 25 years.

Prerequisites for Training:

  1. Completion of the first year of an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program in good standing by July 1, 2024.

  1. Current CV
  2. 3 Letter(s) of Recommendation, including one from Current Program Director
  3. Personal Statement that delineates your career plans and gives us a brief biography
  4. Copy of your USMLE or COMLEX transcript
  5. Copy of ECFMG certificate (as applicable)

In advance of an offer, we would also need:

  1. Programmatic letter confirming your completed rotations and credit attained and reported to the ABP.
  2. Final milestone tracking as submitted to the ACGME.

All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis as of the program start date.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Virtual interviews will be scheduled based on the availability of all parties.
