The Rutgers Health Pediatric Residency Program at Children’s Hospital Of New Jersey/Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is recruiting for an advanced PGY-2 position to begin the 2026-2027 academic year.  The program is located in Newark, New Jersey.

About Our Program

Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is an extensive teaching center offering robust pediatric inpatient and outpatient training with comprehensive support in general and subspeciality pediatrics.  Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is a 665-bed, quaternary care institution located in the South Ward of Newark, New Jersey.  We care for the underserved community with a large focus on the Social Determinants of Health with rotation experience at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Rutgers University Hospital and Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.  It is located 10 miles from New York City and is less than 5 miles from Newark Airport.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Have completed one year of ACGME-accredited pediatric residency training in good standing.
  • Have passing scores on USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3 or COMLEX Levels 1, 2, and 3.
  • Be a graduate of:
    • a US or Canadian LCME-accredited medical school.
    • an international medical school with ECFMG certification.
  • If transferring from another program, you must obtain approval from your current residency program director.
