The pediatric residency program at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital has an unexpected opening for a resident at the PGY-1 level due to VISA issues. Our residency program features a balanced and individualized curriculum in a supportive environment with professional development opportunities in medical education, research, global health, DEIB, rural/underserved medicine, community/advocacy, and the health systems sciences. The recently expanded 165-bed 8-story Penn State Health Children’s Hospital offers an intermediate care unit, the highest level PICU, and a Level IV NICU. Our large catchment area provides a wide array of patient diversity, acuity, and complexity from urban, suburban, and rural areas. We also serve the unique patient population of the Milton Hershey School for underprivileged children. Hershey, located 13 miles from the state capital of Harrisburg, offers affordable living options in safe neighborhoods with excellent schools and a short commute to the hospital.
