Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship Program Open Position for a 1st Year Fellow in Washington D.C
The Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship Program at Children’s National Hospital has an open position for its ACGME accredited three-year training program. The program is affiliated with the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Fellows are selected based on excellent credentials, motivation, and a strong interest in academic rheumatology. The goals of the program are to provide:
- Comprehensive clinical training in all aspects of pediatric rheumatology in infants, children, adolescents and young adults.
- An outstanding environment and support for clinical, translational and basic laboratory research training to prepare individuals for an academic career in rheumatology.
- Foundational skills in medical and patient education.
Fellowship start date: July 1st, 2026
Prerequisite for training:
- Must have completed 3 years of Pediatric Residency in an approved training program before July 1st, 2026.
- Must have recommendations from training program.
- Must have completed medical school in the U.S. or Canada or be ECFMG certified if an international medical graduate.
- Must be successfully able to obtain a District of Columbia unrestricted medical license prior to starting fellowship training.
- Must have successfully passed all three steps of the USMLE.
