Position Announcement: Pediatric Residency Program Director- Position Overview
Richmond University Medical Center, Staten Island, NY is seeking an accomplished and visionary Pediatric Residency Program Director to lead and advance our ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape physician education, mentor future pediatricians, and drive excellence in clinical training, scholarship, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the pediatric residency program in compliance with ACGME Institutional and Program Requirements
- Ensure ongoing accreditation readiness, including oversight of self-studies, ADS reporting, and site visits
- Lead curriculum development, evaluation, and continuous program improvement
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate residents and faculty
- Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment emphasizing wellness and professionalism
- Collaborate with departmental and institutional leadership on educational initiatives
- Participate in clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity consistent with institutional expectations
Qualifications
- MD or DO with board certification in Pediatrics
- Eligibility for medical licensure in NY
- Demonstrated experience in graduate medical education leadership (Associate/Assistant PD experience preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of ACGME requirements
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Commitment to resident education, diversity, equity, and inclusion
