Position Announcement: Pediatric Residency Program Director- Position Overview

Richmond University Medical Center, Staten Island, NY is seeking an accomplished and visionary Pediatric Residency Program Director to lead and advance our ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape physician education, mentor future pediatricians, and drive excellence in clinical training, scholarship, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the pediatric residency program in compliance with ACGME Institutional and Program Requirements
  • Ensure ongoing accreditation readiness, including oversight of self-studies, ADS reporting, and site visits
  • Lead curriculum development, evaluation, and continuous program improvement
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate residents and faculty
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment emphasizing wellness and professionalism
  • Collaborate with departmental and institutional leadership on educational initiatives
  • Participate in clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity consistent with institutional expectations

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with board certification in Pediatrics
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in NY
  • Demonstrated experience in graduate medical education leadership (Associate/Assistant PD experience preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of ACGME requirements
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to resident education, diversity, equity, and inclusion
