The pediatric residency program at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine has an unexpected opening for a rising PGY-2 pediatric resident. The mission of the Pediatric Residency Program at Marshall University School of Medicine is to provide a high-quality postgraduate training program to foster a skilled physician workforce to meet the unique needs of West Virginia and Central Appalachia and to promote excellence in academic scholarship that prepares trainees for autonomous practice. We are committed to aligning with Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine to create a diverse and inclusive program that is sustained in a nurturing environment of life-long learning.
Our program offers hands on experience through Marshall Pediatrics and our associated Children’s Hospital: Hoops Family Children’s Hospital. Our facility serves the tri-state region of southern West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio, giving our trainees a vast exposure to various pathologies and patient experiences/demographics. While our facility is a tertiary center, offering a majority of pediatric sub-specialties, we are a small program, giving our trainees the opportunity to work firsthand with attendings and develop close mentorships. Our program boasts a 100% fellowship MATCH rate for the last four year and a higher than average first time board pass rate.
