Open Rank Clinical Faculty for Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia

The impact spans from its founding nearly 200 years ago, in 1828, as one of the nation’s first medical schools to its current role optimizing health and health care in Georgia and beyond through education, discovery and service.
MCG’s, Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine within the Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking faculty members to add to our growing program and clinical enterprise. This institution became a member of the Wellstar Health System fall of 2023.
Description
We are seeking candidates with a proven track record in clinical care, research, and education. Rank is dependent on training and experience. This opportunity will not only be the start of a new adventure to highlight already developed strengths but to additionally begin a potential path in leadership either in academics or the clinical arena. We are open to developing a position that suits your needs. Emergency Medicine boarded candidates will have the opportunity to continue practice on both adults and children. Candidates with experience in clinical, educational, administrative or ultrasound leadership are encouraged to apply. Competitive salary and benefits are commensurate with other institutions in the Southeast. We will be filling position(s) as soon as July 2025.
Requirements
- PEM Fellowship- trained MD or DO degree with board certification/eligibility in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (ABP or ABEM).
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Georgia.
- Strong commitment to clinical excellence, education, and scholarly activity.
- Strong service orientation and commitment to teamwork.
- Strong organizational and managerial skills.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of scholarly works and research experience
Practice Environment
- Thirteen faculty either EM/Ped dual boarded or PEM fellowship trained.
- 27,000 pediatric visits
- 53,000 adult visits
- 15 bed pediatric ED and a 5 bed Fast track area contiguous but separate from 50 bed adult ED.
- Pediatric Pharmacist in ED
- Child Life in ED
- ACS Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- PEM fellowship with 2 fellows per year (EM and Peds trained)
- Departmental research support to assist with grants and fellow/faculty/resident /student research.
- 250- bed tertiary children’s hospital with all subspecialists represented.
- Full ED sedation privileges
- Well- developed US program with use of EXO Works for clinical revenue capture.
- State of the art simulation center
- Strong interdepartmental relationships and pediatric leadership representation across enterprise.
Augusta, Georgia, is a great place to live and work offering numerous outside activities (water venues, biking venues, gardening, dog parks, etc.).
