We have one opening for a first-year neonatal fellow and 2 openings for second year fellows.

Our unit is a 71-bed level 4 NICU with the main floor consisting of 50 beds and an additional 21 beds on the second floor. Our sickest babies are housed in the main unit which is where most of your clinical time will be spent.

We have all subspecialties. We resuscitate infants from 22 weeks and up. We care for ELBW infants, PPHN, HIE, post-surgical infants. In addition, we have ECMO capability.

The clinical responsibilities change somewhat through the years of fellowship. We have a graded autonomy system which allows for fellows to grow with their confidence and knowledge throughout the years of the program. The first years will have more clinical duties to get them comfortable and confident in their clinical skills. The third years have much more research and academic time to allow them to complete their research projects and submit them for publication.

We have an active transport service run by our fellows. We take transports from the surrounding 29 counties. Fellows get the opportunity to not only manage the calls but to go on the transports for critically ill infants.

We have excellent research mentorship with most fellows completing clinical or QI based projects. In addition to research, we have a robust educational curriculum with a focus on physiology.
