Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to share that applications for the UChicago Clinical Informatics Fellowship will open in early July through ERAS. This ACGME-accredited two-year fellowship prepares physicians for board certification in Clinical Informatics through a robust combination of formal coursework, applied operational experience, and mentored scholarship.

We will be hosting a virtual informational session on June 8th from 12:00–1:00 PM CT via Zoom for prospective applicants interested in learning more about the fellowship, curriculum, mentorship opportunities, and application process.

Program Highlights

  • Master’s-level Biomedical Informatics curriculum
  • Dedicated 1:1 faculty mentorship
  • Epic Physician Builder and Advanced Analytics certification opportunities
  • Rotations across key informatics domains including EHR optimization, clinical decision support, data science, population health, quality & safety, and revenue cycle
  • Exposure to translational and operational informatics, machine learning, and precision health initiatives
  • Participation in institutional committees and enterprise informatics initiatives
  • Approximately 10% protected clinical time to maintain specialty certification and clinical practice

Eligibility & Application Information

  • Applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency
  • Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible and eligible for permanent Illinois medical licensure
  • Applications are accepted through ERAS beginning in early July
  • Interviews will be conducted September–November
