Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida (NCHFL) is a state-of-the-art, freestanding, tertiary care facility for children. The hospital is part of Nemours Children’s, a nonprofit organization funded by the Nemours Foundation. The hospital is currently operating 135 inpatient beds serving pediatric patients from birth to 18 years of age, with 20 inpatient cardiac beds. Our Heart Center is staffed by three pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons, 20 pediatric cardiologists, five cardiac intensivists and three pediatric anesthesiologists. We care for a diverse patient population across all of Florida, with numerous satellite locations that bring our medical expertise closer to our patients from the panhandle to the east coast.

The Pediatric Cardiology Advanced Imaging Fellowship at NCHFL is a one-year non-ACGME-accredited program for graduates of pediatric cardiology fellowship programs. The fellowship includes any combination of training within all the disciplines of cardiac imaging: cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, fetal echocardiography, transthoracic/transesophageal echocardiography, and advanced imaging with virtual/augmented reality and three-dimensional modeling. Annually, our imaging department performs approximately 13,000 transthoracic echocardiograms, 200 transesophageal echocardiograms, 400 fetal echocardiograms, 300 cardiac magnetic resonance imaging studies and 250 cardiac computed tomography scans.

The advanced cardiac imaging fellowship focuses on education and research that would cultivate advancement in technical skills and maturation as an academic imager. This training will further develop research skills and allow the fellow to incorporate quality assessment and improvement across multimodal imaging applications.
