Faculty and Professional Development

The Faculty and Professional Development Learning Community provides opportunities for collaboration among APPD members interested in faculty development. To meet these goals, our learning community has four subsections, each with a focal project.

• The Educator Development subgroup supports APPD members in optimizing faculty development through practical resources and strategies. This includes the production and publication of “Nuts and Bolts”—concise tip sheets on common education topics designed for use in faculty development at members’ home programs.
  
• The Mentoring subgroup organizes mentoring activities for APPD members
• The Professional Development subgroup is excited to share our podcast series entitled, “Career Compass.”  This series features conversations with APPD members and other experts discuss their perspectives on career pathways and advancement, leadership styles, and lessons learned in career development.

The Professional Development subgroup of the APPD Faculty & Professional Development Learning Community is excited to share our web(pod)cast series entitled, “Career Compass.”  This series, hosted by Drs. Meredith Bone, Erin Owen, and Adam Wolfe features conversations with APPD members and other experts discuss their perspectives on career pathways and advancement, leadership styles, and lessons learned in career development. We hope you will watch or listen to inspire your own career development and to get to know members of our community.
