SCOPE OF WORK AGREEMENT

The Mission of the APPD Longitudinal Educational Software Solutions and Outcomes Network (LESSON) is to produce and provide access to online, asynchronous educational materials that advance the training of future Pediatricians for the purpose of improving the health and well-being of children. Our vision is to advance exemplary pediatric education through the assistance of educational technology, outcome-based curriculum development, and learner assessment to APPD members.

DEFINITIONS

APPD LESSON: Longitudinal Educational Software Solutions and Outcomes Network

Learning Management System (LMS): Online system hosting the curriculum, provided by APPD, contracted through Oasis©.

ROLES

Project Lead(s) (PL): person or people who are in charge of the suggested curriculum.

Subject Matter Expert (SME): chosen experts in the field related to the suggested curriculum.

Instructional Designer (ID): person in charge of development and design of LMS module, interactive learning elements, multimedia, graphics, color scheme, coordination of content delivery from subject matter experts, user testing, and subsequent beta testing.

Coordinator(s) in LMS Oasis©: account manager(s) that can add users and assign curricula for their programs. In addition, they can view metrics on learners. PDs, APDs, and program coordinators will be ‘coordinators’ in Oasis©.

RESPONSIBILITIES

APPD LESSON will be responsible for:

    • Curriculum advising with the Project Lead
    • Design and development of online modules (graphics, active learning activities, multimedia)
    • Implement 3 rounds of edits only provided by the Project Leader (Initial, SME Feedback, Final)
    • Pre- and post- curriculum assessment data collection
    • Hosting the curriculum with annual updates, as indicated
    • Hosting and providing pre- and post-assessment data for 4 years, at defined semi-annual intervals
    • End user testing
    • Final content and readiness to launch approval

Project Leads will be responsible for:

    • Execute Intellectual Property (IP) agreements from all PL and SME.
    • Set Goals and Objectives.
    • Work with SME’s to development of content or provide completed content for asynchronous content creation.
    • Lead the development of curricular content and assessments under the guidance of the SMEs.
    • Obtain Permissions for Copyrighted Material used in content (i.e. pictures, videos, graphs, charts); Ensure there are no copyright restrictions on any materials provided for the curriculum.
    • Aggregate and supply content edits or additional content from SMEs (as noted above, APPD LESSON will only conduct 3 rounds of edits on curriculum).
    • Provide new SMEs if delivery deadlines are not met.
    • Description of target learners
    • 2-year Content Review of the Curriculum; Identify any major areas of revision (i.e. clinical changes, medication updates)

Please note: If PL's would like to conduct research on their curriculum, please apply and submit to APPD LEARN. 

DELIVERABLES

APPD LESSON:

    • Online curriculum hosting on the LMS.
    • Bi-Annually: Pre- and post- curriculum data including demographic data and product usage/compliance.

Project Leads and Subject Matter Experts:

    • Intellectual Property Agreements from the Project Leads and all Subject Matter Experts
    • Scope of Work Agreement by the Project Leads
    • Fully Developed Curriculum (content, resources, links)
    • Permissions for Copyrighted Material used in content (i.e. pictures, videos, graphs, charts)
    • Assessment Questions (Pre- and Post-Test)
