Donating to the APPD
As part of our commitment to advancing the goals outlined in APPD’s Vision 2030 Strategic Plan, we invite members to make a tax-deductible contribution in support of the initiatives that matter most to them. To empower meaningful giving, donors may designate their contribution to one of four priority areas noted below.
Your tax deductible donation to the APPD Fund will be acknowledged in several ways. Contributors will be acknowledged and highlighted in the APPD e-Bulletin and during the APPD Annual Spring Meeting.
You may donate online using your charge card on our secure site, or contact the APPD Office for donations by check.

Each funding area includes programs and initiatives that advance APPD’s mission and strengthen the pediatric education community.
Development & Support
Gifts designated to Development & Support help strengthen the pathway of pediatric medical educators and leaders by investing in faculty development, mentorship, and professional growth.
Designated Initiatives:
- APPD AIMS – Supporting residents who are interested in careers in pediatric medical education and committed to promoting belonging and inclusion in the clinical learning environment.
- APPD FUEL – Supporting early career faculty who are interested in careers in pediatric medical education and committed to promoting belonging and inclusion in the clinical learning environment.
- APPD LEAD – Longitudinal educator development with curriculum that focuses on organizational leadership, competency-based curriculum development, faculty development, residency and fellowship program administration, scholarship and career development.
- APPD LEAPES – Enhancing the knowledge, skills, and networking for Pediatric Graduate Medical Education Specialists who wish to gain expertise needed to successfully guide the success of graduate medical education programs and advance their GME careers.
- APPD SMERFS – Supporting pediatric subspecialty fellows with instruction about scholarship and mentoring of a medical education research project.
Organizational Excellence
This category supports the systems, infrastructure, and data resources needed to elevate APPD’s operational excellence and enhance the services we offer members.
Designated Initiatives:
- APPD LESSON – Advancing exemplary pediatric education through the assistance of educational technology, outcome-based curriculum development, and learner assessment.
- APPD CBME Data Hub – Allowing program leaders to accelerate their implementation of competency-based medical education.
Leadership & Collaboration
Gifts to this focus area strengthen partnerships, build networks of educators across institutions, and support global collaboration to advance pediatric medical education.
Designated Initiative:
- APPD Global Health Scholarship – Supporting two scholarships of global stakeholders’ attendance to the APPD Spring Meeting.
Research & Scholarship
Donations to the Research & Scholarship Fund advance the research of pediatric medical education and support innovation across learning environments.
Designated Initiatives:
- APPD LEARN – Collaborative research network advancing pediatric educational scholarship.
- APPD Special Projects – Enabling program members to pilot new innovations and disseminate best practices in pediatric medical education.
