St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, located in Paterson, New Jersey, will have an opening in our program for a PGY-2 or PGY-3 pediatrics categorical resident to join our program effective July 1, 2026. Our hospital is located in a diverse, busy urban environment in Northern New Jersey with a mission to provide equitable care to underserved communities. We are a mid-sized community pediatrics residency program (12 residents per PGY year) that cares for a wide array of pediatric conditions. Our program has all core pediatric subspecialties (and no fellows), so our residents have direct teaching and mentorship from inpatient and outpatient faculty. In addition to providing robust inpatient and outpatient education, our program also stands out in its commitment to advocacy in our community. We are a core clerkship rotation site for 3 medical schools (St. George’s University, Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine, and University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine).

Our hospital is located 15 miles outside of New York City. Northern New Jersey is home to excellent schools and is within a short drive of the Jersey Shore and picturesque lakes and mountains.

Interested applicants may find more information about our program on the our website: https://stjosephshealth.org/education/graduate-medical-education-education/residency-programs/pediatrics-residency/peds-overview/
