The University of California, Irvine-CHOC Pediatric Residency Program is seeking qualified candidates for a PGY2 position to start July 1, 2026. We are an ACGME-accredited program in beautiful and sunny Orange County, located in the heart of Southern California. This is an exciting opportunity to join our residency program, which has earned us a reputation as a resident-friendly program. We offer aspiring physicians unique and exciting training opportunities. Training takes place at the UCI Medical Center and CHOC in Orange, and Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital in Long Beach.

We provide trainees with a broad-based educational experience directed at providing the highest quality care for our diverse patient population through expansive opportunities in a collegial and supportive setting.

Program Details:

  • 25 categorical pediatrics and 2 child neurology residents per year.

Eligibility criteria:

To be eligible, you must have completed/be on track to complete a PGY1 year in categorial pediatrics by June 30, 2026.

  • MD or DO degree
  • US citizen or permanent resident or J-1 visa
  • Completion of one year of pediatrics training and be in good standing

Candidates will need to submit their medical school and residency transcripts, current curriculum vitae, USMLE and/or COMLEX transcripts for all 3 levels, three letters of recommendation within the last 12 months, ACGME milestone reports (if applicable) and a personal statement along with an application. For International Medical Graduates, ECFMG Certificate & Extension Letter (if certificate has expiration date) is required.
