This position offers an opportunity for a dynamic pediatric leader to serve as the Program Director for Pediatrics at Cone Health. The program director plays a central role in directing the UNC Primary Care Track residency and educating categorical pediatric residents and UNC medical students. In this role, the Program Director works collaboratively with the UNC Pediatric Residency Program director, part of a longstanding educational partnership. The program director has comprehensive oversight of the 18-bed inpatient pediatric ward and 6000 delivery/year newborn nursery, including supervision of faculty, residents, and advanced practice providers. The Program Director also oversees the educational quality for Cone Health Family Medicine residents during their pediatric rotations. The position is responsible for maintaining high standards of clinical teaching, supporting faculty development, aligning educational activities with accreditation requirements, and promoting an engaging and supportive learning environment across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
The ideal candidate will have outstanding leadership skills, be board certified in Pediatrics, possess outstanding clinical and teaching expertise, and have at least 3 years of educational and/or administrative experience. Board certification in pediatric hospital medicine is not required. Applicants are eligible for a faculty appointment at the UNC School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics.
