We are excited to announce a call for applications for our GLOBAL, RURAL AND UNDERSERVED CHILD HEALTH FELLOWSHIP at the University of Utah School of Medicine in partnership with the University Teaching Hospital of Butare, Rwanda (CHUB) and Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS).

We are soliciting applications for 2 positions starting July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028.

The objective of our fellowship is to provide fellows clinical exposure, academic opportunities, and mentorship in order to become leaders in global child health.  Our fellows receive mentorship from faculty at the University of Utah and from colleagues at our partner sites in Rwanda and Navajo Nation. Over the two years, fellows also have the opportunity to pursue an advanced degree.

Fellows will spend approximately 12 months working for NAIHS at Chinle Service Unit and 12 months in Rwanda, stationed at the University Teaching Hospital of Butare and Kabutare District Hospital.  Fellows are integrated into the faculty in Rwanda and the care teams at IHS and have the opportunity to participate in clinical care, medical education and research/QI.

Fellows are compensated competitively compared to other global health fellowships along the PGY scale.  The cost of travel, housing, and utilities is included.  Applicants must be Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics at the time of employment.

Applications are now being accepted, and candidates will be interviewed virtually on a rolling basis.
