Dear Program Director,

Do you have residents or fellows who might be interested in advancing the mission of making nutrition an integral part of medical practice, education, and/or research? We kindly request that you consider disseminating the information below to your trainees:

For more than 15 years, the University of Colorado Clinical Fellowship in Pediatric Obesity and Nutrition has offered a unique opportunity for candidates to learn knowledge and skills critical for delivering effective and high value medical care. Our dedicated faculty of physician nutrition and obesity specialists offer a curriculum that is tailored to the career goals of each fellow. Fellows have inpatient and outpatient clinical experiences at Children’s Hospital Colorado where they can develop expertise in: the treatment obesity and comorbid conditions in children and adolescents (including lifestyle modification, anti-obesity medications, and bariatric surgery), assessment of body composition, measurement of metabolic rate with indirect calorimetry, treatment of growth faltering, malnutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and well-child nutrition including normal infant feeding.

Graduates are prepared to obtain certifications by the American Board of Obesity Medicine and/or the National Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists. Our 12-month Clinical Fellowship can be followed by an optional 2-3 year T32 Research Fellowship.  Physicians who are board certified or eligible in pediatrics, internal medicine-pediatrics, or family medicine are welcome to apply. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for the position available July/Aug 2026.
