Program Overview:
The Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship at Valley Children’s Healthcare is seeking applicants for a 1st-year fellowship opening in the 2026–2028 training cycle. Our ACGME-accredited program offers a robust, supportive, and highly individualized training experience with a strong emphasis on clinical excellence, quality improvement, medical education, patient safety, leadership, and scholarly development.
Fellows benefit from the unique structure of a freestanding children’s hospital, high-volume high-acuity clinical exposure, and the rich academic environment. Our graduates are prepared for successful careers in academic, community, and leadership-focused PHM roles.

What Our Fellowship Offers:
- Broad exposure to the full spectrum of inpatient pediatric hospital medicine at a 330 bed free standing tertiary care children’s hospital and a robust Community Hospital experience at a regional site.
- Service area provides care to more than 1.3 million children in a 13-county service area
- Central California’s only designated Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and only Level 4 Epilepsy Center
- ED ~90,000 visits annually
- Strong mentorship in research, QI, medical education, and leadership
- Protected scholarly time with opportunities for national presentation and publication

Eligibility Requirements:
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatrics or Med-Peds residency by June 2025
- Eligibility for California medical licensure
- Demonstrated interest in Pediatric Hospital Medicine, academic development, QI/education and leadership
