The Department of Pediatrics at New York Medical College/Metropolitan Hospital is seeking an exceptional physician leader to serve as Chief Resident for the 2026-2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated pediatrician to step into a key leadership role within a dynamic and supportive academic environment.
🔹 About the Role
As Chief Resident, you will play a central part in shaping the educational experience of residents and medical students, advocating for trainees, and ensuring excellence in patient care. This position offers protected time for leadership development, academic growth, and participation in institutional initiatives.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the pediatric residency program
- Mentor, support, and advocate for residents
- Organize educational conferences, simulation sessions, and academic activities
- Facilitate scheduling, workflow, and communication among teams
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and institutional committees
- Support recruitment and onboarding of incoming residents
🔹 Ideal Candidate
- Current pediatric PGY-3 resident in good standing or graduate of any ACGME-accredited residency/fellowship program
- Demonstrated leadership, professionalism, and communication skills
- Passion for teaching and medical education
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
