The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) in Bronx, NY is pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for our Academic General Pediatrics Fellowship Program for July 2026.

Our program is focused on preparing the next generation of leaders in academic general pediatrics by providing training in research, clinical care, medical education, and/or policy development. The fellowship program is two years in duration. Fellows will have opportunities to tailor their training experience based on their specific areas of interest with mentorship from fellowship faculty.

Research

Fellows will have opportunity to conduct health services research, patient centered outcomes research, quality improvement research or community based participatory research.

Fellows would also have an option to complete a rigorous curriculum of research methods training through the Master of Science degree program in Clinical Research Methods through Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Fellows will have opportunity to present their findings at regional and national professional society meetings and submit their work for publication to a peer-reviewed journal. 

Clinical/Teaching

Fellows will:

  • engage in delivery of clinical care in both ambulatory and inpatient settings within a diverse quaternary care teaching hospital.
  • have opportunity to develop skills as a clinician educator by teaching medical students and residents in addition to developing educational curriculum.
  • have opportunity to develop clinical guidelines and policies for integrated healthcare network
  • have opportunity to engage in local, regional, and national advocacy initiatives to improve care of underserved communities.

About the Division of Academic General Pediatrics

The Division of Academic General Pediatrics consists of attending physicians, nurse practitioners, PhD social scientists, psychologists, and social workers and administrative staff. Our clinical practice sites are patient centered medical homes with integrated mental health services. Our practices are the primary teaching sites for residents in our pediatric residency program and include a federally qualified health center. Division faculty are actively engaged in medical education, quality improvement and research. Division research initiatives are currently focused on social determinants of health, mental health, asthma, obesity, health care transitions, adolescent health, environmental health and children and adolescents with special health care needs/medical complexity.

Salary and Benefits

Fellows will receive a stipend, benefits, and tuition along with an allowance for books, travel, and other related program expenses.
