SMERFS Cohort 2

I grew up in a small town in the Midwest, before heading off to the “big city” to complete my undergraduate degree at the University of TN. I subsequently graduated from the University of TN. My partner and I then left Tennessee to pursue residencies in CA. I completed my pediatric residency, chief residency, and Critical Care fellowship training at UC San Diego. We then decided to make CA our permanent home and have now lived in the CA area for the last 25 years. Currently I am a program director – going on 15 years. My career focus is in medical education research and my secondary focus is clinical work – in the space of pediatric critical care. In my spare time, I like to travel, cook, and run. I have 2 kids who are now thriving as adults. I look forward to meeting and getting to know my new friends in the Cohort very soon!
