The Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore has unfilled slots.

Our Children’s Hospital has 136 beds plus a large neonatal ICU and is located in the North-West of the Bronx.

We are the largest Program in NY with a longstanding history of training the current leaders in the field, including George Schwartz of the Schwartz formula for GFR calculation! We currently have 8 faculty and 4 fellows in our division. We also have two social workers, a renal nutritionist, a clinical psychologist, a transplant coordinator, two pediatric dialysis nurses and a divisional nurse who all support our fellows and faculty.

We sponsor both J-1 and H1B visas. Our fellows get to go to conferences every year and all our past graduates were able to secure top positions with excellent pay.

We provide all services a pediatric nephrologist can provide, and the fellows have ample experience with acute and chronic dialysis and the diagnosis and management of bread-and-butter nephrology as well as complex care including MARS (Molecular Adsorbent Recirculating System) dialysis for acute liver failure patients. We provide the entire gamut of pediatric nephrology care, from orthostatic proteinuria to managing neonatal acute kidney injury and kidney transplantation. Our training also includes the requirements to become a kidney transplant medical director, if this path is desired in the future.
