Greetings!

I would love to share a fantastic opportunity in the pediatric pulmonary division at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

We have one open fellowship position to start in the 2025-2026 academic year and you could fill it outside of the NRMP match process.

Why choose pulmonology?

The Patients

  • We care for a highly variable and fascinating group of patients, from asthma to cystic fibrosis, BPD, interstitial lung disease, chronic respiratory failure, primary ciliary dyskinesia, and more. We develop long lasting relationships with our patients and their families over the majority of their pediatric lives and make a significant impact.

The Procedures

  • We also perform flexible bronchoscopies in the OR, NICCU, and PICU for multiple indications (aerodigestive, bronchoalveolar lavage, airway malformations, hemorrhage, and more!)

Our jobs are fun and exciting with excellent opportunity for work life balance!

  • Our jobs are variable including clinic, inpatient consults, inpatient management, the OR, research, leadership, and advocacy.

Pediatric pulmonologists are a fun and collaborative group.

  • We often talk to our colleagues across the country and the world on interesting cases. We meet at NACFC and ATS yearly and our comradery only grows.

Expanding Fields and Job Security

  • Our field continues to grow as we develop new techniques in pediatric interventional pulmonology, pulmonary hypertension, sleep medicine, medical education, national advocacy, and more!
  • Respiratory disease is globally the highest cause of morbidity and mortality in children, and there are critical shortages of pediatric pulmonologists throughout the country, so job security will be in the bag!

Pediatric Pulmonology at CHLA

  • As for fellowship experience at CHLA, the fellows here consistently provide each other a tight-knit supportive family who just celebrated Friendsgiving together last week (just one example of their wonderful community).
  • Our physiology teaching is highly sought after nationally.
  • The clinical experience will prepare you for anything for the rest of your careers
