The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a full-time Program Director to lead the Pediatric Residency Program at Elmhurst. Elmhurst Hospital Center is a member of New York City’s Health + Hospitals (NYC H+H) public hospital system and serves the culturally diverse community of Western Queens.
The Pediatric Residency Training Program at Elmhurst Hospital Center is dedicated to training residents to be outstanding general pediatricians. It accomplishes this goal through a curriculum which provides extensive didactic and clinical experiences emphasizing the delivery of care for children in all states of health and disease. Additionally, a broad exposure to pediatric subspecialties is present through exposure to rotations at Mount Sinai designed to provide a foundation for possible future subspecialty training.
The Pediatric Residency Program Director (PD) will be responsible for the direct oversight of all educational activities within the program and will report to the Director of Pediatrics and the Icahn School of Medicine GME office. The Program Director will work closely with the Director of Medical Student Education in Pediatrics, Associate Director for Education, Division Chiefs, and other institutional and departmental training program directors to advance the educational mission of Icahn School of Medicine and the NYC H+H/Elmhurst Pediatric Department. There are a wide variety of opportunities for program development and academic advancement. The PD role has 60-70% FTE allocated for administrative efforts towards leading the residency program.
We offer faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience and qualifications. Candidates should be BC in Pediatrics and/or a subspecialty and possess a valid New York State license and DEA. Experience in leadership roles and program development is required. The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City and surrounding areas including Long Island and Westchester County.
