The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine is seeking a pediatrician to join the Pediatric Primary Care Clinic in Central Vermont as a Clinical Assistant Professor. The clinic is a certified medical home, providing a full spectrum of primary care services to a diverse population in Central Vermont area, as well as community hospital care for newborns at Central Vermont Medical Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physician examinations and diagnostic evaluations for children of varying ages.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric medical conditions, ensuring optimal care for each patient.
  • Manage an average of 16-18 patients per day, adapting to case complexity and medical needs.
  • Teach residents and medical students.
  • Allocate time efficiently for 4 patient facing 8-hour days and 1 administrative day with no clinical duties.
  • Provide delivery coverage call for the hospital.
  • Collaborate effectively with parents or guardians to explain diagnoses treatment options, and preventive measures in a clear and empathetic manner.

Qualifications:

  • Board certification in Pediatrics
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license in Vermont
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with young patients and their families.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare
  • Willingness to participate in delivery coverage call and pediatric call for the hospital.
  • NRP certification and experience are preferred.
