Hello APPD Community,
I am Voytek Slowik, the Program Director for the Pediatric GI Fellowship Program at Children’s Mercy – Kansas City. Following Match Day, we still have an opening to take a Pediatric GI Fellow for a July 2025 start.
We have a large Pediatric GI Department with 21 faculty, 7 psychologists, and 16 APRNs (and growing!). Our fellowship program is ACGME accredited and takes 2 fellows per year. Fellows at Children’s Mercy – Kansas City are exposed to a wide variety of subspecialties including Transplant Hepatology, Advanced Endoscopy, Intestinal Rehabilitation, Motility, Complex Abdominal Pain, Inflammatory Bowel Disorders, Polyposis, among many others. Our program boasts endoscopic simulation, a good quality of life, generous benefits, a supportive GME, and a 100% board pass rate for the last 5 years. Our hospital itself is a recognized as one of the nation’s top pediatric hospitals, according to the U.S. News & World Reports and is ranked in all pediatric specialties. Our hospital is a tertiary medical center with over 400 beds and pulls referrals from across the Mid-West. Kansas City is an exciting and dynamic city with incredible food, world-class sports teams, an active cultural scene, and remains affordable to live in!
