SUNY-Downstate Medical Center’s Division of General Pediatrics is seeking a BE/BC pediatrician to work in the Pediatric Primary Care practices, the Newborn Nursery and the General Pediatrics Inpatient Unit. This is a full-time academic position that includes an opportunity to teach medical students and pediatric residents and to provide direct patient care in several settings. Our pediatric Outpatient Center is Level 3 NCQA Medical Home where the pediatrician will strive to provide the highest quality primary care to our patients. The Pediatrician will be responsible for patient care in the newborn nursery during the weekdays, including supervision and education of residents and medical students, and collaborating regularly with newborn nursing administration to improve workflow and patient care. The pediatrician will also attend on the pediatric in-patient unit as needed. This position includes an academic appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at the SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University with opportunity to pursue a variety interests including medical education, public health and/or research and scholarly academic pursuits. Call schedule is approximately 2 weekdays per month and 1 in every 8 weekends.
