The Initiative for Innovation in Pediatric Education (IIPE) is established on recommendation of the ABP Residency Review and Redesign in Pediatrics (R3P) Project) as an entity committed to initiation, facilitation and sustenance of ongoing innovative change in pediatric education. The aim of the IIPE is to support high quality research in medical education through its call for proposals, Innovation/Improvement Plans (I-Plans), and promote the development of evidence-based medical education. It will support change by provision of administrative oversight and advocacy. It will also provide consultation for design of exploratory projects, evaluation of outcomes and dissemination of results. The Federation of Pediatric Organizations (FOPO) will serve as the administrative home for the IIPE.
Mission - To initiate, facilitate and oversee innovative change in pediatric residency education through carefully monitored, outcome-directed experimentation.
Vision - Residency education will improve the health of children, adolescents and young adults by adapting to changes in their health care needs and changes in the organization and delivery of pediatric health care.
