OSHA Will Not Regulate Resident Duty Hours
The Occupational Safety and Health Admininstration (OSHA) has determined that it will not regulate resident duty hours, but rather leave it to the ACGME and medical educators. In a letter of response Dr. David Michaels responds to multiple petitions for and against OSHA getting involved in regulating duty hours, pointing out that the problem of working long hours is not limited to medical interns and residents.
