APPD & APA Journal

As part of a partnership between the APPD and the Academic Pediatric Association (APA) www.ambpeds.org, all APPD member programs receive an institutional subscription to the bimonthly publication, Academic Pediatrics.

In each issue, a page has been set aside exclusively for the APPD. This page, called View from the Association of Pediatric Program Directors, represents an effort by the APPD leadership to publish, disseminate, and communicate important APPD initiatives of interest to APPD members, APA members, and the educational community. In addition, abstracts from the APPD Spring Meeting are published in the online section of the journal: http://www.academicpedsjnl.com/ Academic Pediatrics, the official journal of the Academic Pediatric Association, is a peer-reviewed publication whose purpose is to strengthen the research and educational base of academic general pediatrics. The content areas of the journal reflect the interests of Association members and other health professionals who care for children. These areas include such diverse topics as pediatric education, emergency medicine, injury, abuse, behavioral pediatrics, holistic medicine, child health services and health policy, and the environment. The journal's particular emphases include an active forum for the presentation of pediatric educational research in diverse settings, involving medical students, residents, fellows, and practicing professionals. APPD members are encouraged to submit to the journal as part of the peer-review process to disseminate scholarly works.
